RISK MANAGEMENT

When you make a booking at the Blue Skies Abseil Tower we require you to be at the tower, with your group, at the specified start time. This is so we can start our breifing without cutting into your abseiling & climbing time. It is very important that everyone in your group that intends to participate is present at the briefing.

We suggest that the best footwear for these activities are lace up shoes (done up) and rubber soles are best. All drawcords on clothing should be tucked inside the clothing and long hair tied back, (we have hair ties at the tower if required). The current fashion of bare stomachs is not good as the harness rubs on bare skin.

It also helps if the group visits the toilet before the activity starts as both the main harness and chest harness need to be removed if you need to go later on.

If there is any person in your group that has health or behavior problems that may be relevant please inform the instructor in charge on the day before the booking commences. If these problems may require us to have extra instructors on duty please discuss this with me in advance.

If there is rain, very high winds, the tower is wet or icy we will cancel the booking, for safety reasons, as early as possible but sometimes this is not apparent until we arrive at the site to set up. The decision to cancel is made by the instructor in charge on the day only if it is considered unsafe for your group to abseil or climb.

For your own safety and that of your group, please read through our Risk Management policy prior to arrival at the tower.
