The Blue Skies Abseiling Tower is an independently run abseiling & climbing tower at Blue Skies Conference & Training Facility in Kaiapoi, about 15 minutes north of Christchurch. The Tower has 2 abseil walls (8 & 16 meters high) and a climbing wall (9 metres high).

The tower is totally run by volunteers so the sessions are usually available after 5.30pm weekdays or during the weekend and by appointment only. Most sessions are 2-3 hours long.

Charges are: $7.00 per person for youth under 15 years and $10.00 per person for adults.

We cater for a variety of groups from schools, to youth groups, to company picnics & team-building. For bookings our minimum number is 10 and maximum is 30 for a single session. For larger groups (i.e. company picnics) we can have people come to the tower on a staggered basis and have a few abseil/climbs before moving on.

Recommended from ages 9 - 99 years. For younger aged groups we will not run the high abseil tower and try to have a higher instructor/participant ratio.  We can also take participants with physicial & mental handicaps as long as we know in advance, so we can provide the appropriate staffing levels and equipment required.

We have lights on the Tower, so can operate after dark, but for safety reasons, if there is rain, very high winds or the tower is wet or icy we will cancel the booking.

Any bookings prior to 6pm on a weekday requires a meal to be provided for the instructors, so they can come straight from work.
